The Jewish Cultural Quarter includes the Jewish Museum (formerly known as the Jewish Historical Museum), the Portuguese Synagogue (built in 1675), the Hollandsche Schouwburg (National Holocaust Memorial), and the Jewish Museum Junior (an educational children's museum designed like a traditional Jewish home).
The Jewish Museum itself is housed in four monumental synagogues near Waterlooplein, making it a great place to start on a family day out in central Amsterdam.

Heb alleen de Portugese Synagoge gemist. Was een beetje laat. Had geen rekening gehouden met de voorbereiding van de Sabbath. Het museum is een aanrader. Mooi en indrukwekkend. Mooie Chanoeka gezien. De Synagoge een andere keer.
Wij kochten combi-pas voor zondag 20 april, maar Synagoge bleek gesloten wegens Pesach. Dit zou toch moeten geweten zijn. Jammer, zo hebben we voor iets betaald wat niet open blijkt te zijn.

Well organized, well put, interactive. Beautifully done overall and the tickets also include the Portuguese sunagogue, located right across the street.
Neem ruimschoots de tijd en begin echt boven bij het begin. Zeker als er jongeren bij zijn.
Neem het in je op, desnoods ga je 2 maal.

Une très belle découverte qui s inscrit dans le tour d Europe de la mémoire. Le musée du judaïsme nous enseigne l histoire de la vie des juifs à Amsterdam mais ne s étend pas sur la période nazie. Ce pays a t il fait son introspection comme l Allemagne?

Amazing place, full of content and history. I loved the whole place, and I could check some of my own Jewish background as well. The workers are very nice and helpful. I want to come back there some day. Thank you for the amazing time!
