Make the most of fast-track entry and cruise past the notoriously long lines
I was rudely shooed (hand gestured) away at the entrance to the Mamertine Prison museum as I had a small luggage bag on my person, with nowhere else to put it. No alternatives offered so was denied entry.
Overall a good experience tickets we send across via email, it took several attempts for these to be scanned to allow entry into the museum both at the initial checkpoint and internal entry gate.

Our tour guide was outstanding. People could ask their individual questions as we walked so there was very little standing around. Definitely worthwhile if you have very little knowledge, on your own, about Rome during this time in history.
The tour was fantastic, though it took us some time to find the office for the Mamertine Prison to collect our tickets. It's the little circular yellow building on the hill overlooking the Roman Forum - we ended up having to ask.

As a Jesus follower myself, the history of Peter and Paul’s imprisonment in this space was deeply moving for my personal faith. Very informative and accessible; not crowded earlier in the day when I went. Recommended.
