The beautiful and historic building in which the Wereldmuseum Amsterdam is housed is a little out of the main tourist areas. It's in leafy Amsterdam Oost, not far from the Artis Zoo.
Formerly the Tropenmuseum, this museum is dedicated to other cultures and countries, and is one of Amsterdam's hidden treasures.

Het was fijn om korting te kunnen krijgen via Tiqets. De martial arts tentoonstelling was wel aardig, maar vrij klein. De website van het museum was onduidelijk. Wij dachten op zondag om 11:30 mee te kunnen doen aan een kungfu workshop, maar die wordt alleen doordeweeks gegeven. Verder was het gene ...

The museum is housed in a great old building that feels like a cathedral when you walk in and it has mezzanines around the central Grand room. The colonial anthropology history was excellent and there was a good section on race and racism, Old and new. They have a very good gift shop to with some et...
